Second Stage Round 9: Krka - Zadar 65-75

There was no surprise in Novo Mesto where 5th ranked SlovenianKrka (9-16) was defeated by second ranked Croatian Zadar (12-13) 75-65 on Saturday. Zadar outrebounded Krka 40-23 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Montenegrin point guard Vladimir Mihailovic (193-1990) stepped up and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners and forward Krsevan Klarica (196-2003) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Zadar players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Blaz Mahkovic (201-1990, agency: Interperformances) with 15 points and American center Sukhmail Mathon (208-1998, college: Boston U.) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. Krka's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Zadar have a solid series of three victories in a row. Defending Croatian champion keeps a position of league leader. Loser Krka keeps the fifth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Vienna.
